DIY Eczema Liquid Hand Soap

Quick, easy, and made from simple ingredients. Suitable for hand washing or body soap. Keeps skin soft and reduces inflammation from eczema with the addition of lavender. I like to pair this soap with a foaming soap dispenser at sinks and in the shower for a luxurious and thick foam that lathers well.

  • 1/2 cup Liquid Castile Soap
  • 1/2 cup Distilled Water
  • 1 tablespoon Vitamin E Oil
  • 1 tablespoon Jojoba Oil or Avocado Oil
  • 1 tablespoon Vegetable Glycerin
  • 4 drops Lavender Oil
  • 2 drops Tea Tree Oil
  • Foaming Soap Dispenser (preferably glass)

There is no need to buy distilled water. Instead you can boil tap water and allow it to cool completely. The idea is to use purified water to ensure there is no growth of bacteria within the bottle. This soap has a life of about 2-3 weeks from my own personal experience so be sure to scale the recipe accordingly for your specific needs to reduce waste.

Using a funnel makes preparation quick, clean, and easy. Just be sure that if you're using a plastic funnel that you do not cross-contaminate with your kitchenware as the oils used in the soap, like all oils, bonds with plastic and cannot be fully removed.

The same goes for the foaming soap dispenser - glass is preferable if you want to ensure that the dispenser can be sanitized properly and last for a long time.
